Social worker and MWM Karachi leader Syed Sibte Asghar was released after Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen announced sit-in outside Governor House in Karachi yesterday.
Sibte Asghar was taken into undeclared illegal custody by cops in plainclothes without any charge against him. That triggered reaction from his family, well-wishers and friends alike because he is well-known figure of his neighbourhood.
MWM Pakistan warned the authorities of countrywide protest if the focal person of Karachi Commissioner’s Peace Committee for district west was not released. Complaints were formally lodged with concerned authorities and these efforts come to fruition.
Sibte Asghar was released yesterday. He, his family, friends and party have expressed satisfaction and heaved a sigh of relief over the safe return to home.
