Jailed Bahraini opposition leader Hassan Mushaima has reportedly been deprived of his medication this week as he continues to face restrictions to proper medical care. AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Jailed Bahraini opposition leader Hassan Mushaima has reportedly been deprived of his medication this week as he continues to face restrictions to proper medical care. His son and London-based activist, Ali, tweeted on Wednesday that Mushaima “is still awaiting the results of his cancer scan taken in August.” The 70-year-old prisoner is serving a life sentence over his role in Bahrain’s 2011 pro-democracy protests. He is a cancer survivor and suffers from multiple health conditions including diabetes. Ali observed a weeks-long hunger strike earlier this year over his father’s ill-treatment in detention, which includes restrictions to proper health care, family visits and books. |
