Shia Muslims are celebrating the birth anniversary of Hazrat Bibi Fatima Zahra (AS) in commemoration of the 20 Jamadi-us-Sani birthday in Medina. The leader of women in paradise was beloved daughter of Prophet of Islam Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH), the last apostle of God.
Imamia Students Organisation (Female Wing), Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen women wing and other parties celebrate the 20 Jamadi-us-Sani as “International Mother’s Day” like other co-religionists across the world since Hazrat Fatima Zahra (AS) is a role model for mothers and daughters alike. Sunni Muslims also believe in the greatness of great Lady of Islam and they too believe that she is Khatoon-e-Jannat or Leader of Women in Paradise.
The women and children are hosting congregations at houses and Imam Bargahs across Pakistan to mark the birth anniversary. The houses, mosques and Imam Bargahs were illuminated with colour lights and buntings since last night.
In Iran, people thronged the holy shrines of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashahd, Hazrat Fatima Masoomah in Qom, Imam Ahmed bin Moosa Kazim (AS) in Shiraz, Imam Khomeini (RA) and other Imam Zadegan in Tehran, Qom, Nishapur and across Iran.
The holy shrines of infallible Imams in Najaf, Karbala, Kazemain and Samarra also witnessed celebrations and so did the entire Iraq.
Shia Muslims in Arab countries, India and in other parts of the world are celebrating the anniversary as the “World Mother’s Day” that was introduced by Iranian Shiites since the Shia Islamic Revolution in 1979 led by Imam Khomeini.
