Chief Commander of the Border Guards of Iran Brigadier General Qassem Rezayee has appreciated Pakistan for its decisiveness against common threats on the border of the two countries.
He expressed the hope that these relations between Pakistan and Iran were going to be exponentially more coherent. He made these comments during his visit to Sistan and Baluchestan province.
General Rezayee said that the Pakistani government has come to the scene more decisively than ever to confront the common border threats.
On February 22, Spokesperson of the Pakistan Army said that Iran and Pakistan have excellent cooperation at all levels to strengthen the security of joint border.
Director General (DG) of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor said this while responding to a question of IRNA's Correspondent on Zahedan terrorist attack at a press conference with local and international media at army headquarters in Rawalpindi.
He said that the border issue between Pakistan and Iran has nothing to do with our border issues with Afghanistan, adding Pakistan has full faith along its borders with Iran.
“Yes an incident happened we are neighboring countries, we share border, porous border, unmanned border, but we have a very good coordination with Iran,” he said.
He said, “Iran and Pakistan have good coordination at different levels whether it is local or between forces on Pakistan-Iran border, or between the leadership, military and civilian both.”
This terrorism is a regional threat, a regional challenge and it needs a regional approach, we are in good coordination with Iran and we would ensure that such movement would not happen as third party is friend of none,” viewed the general.
