At least two Shia Zaireen have died at Taftan border town due to lack of facilities in the hot weather. Shia Muslim pilgrims have been stopped at the Taftan border town for last six days and it seems old policy continues even during PTI-leg government in Pakistan against Zaireen.
Thousands of Shia Muslims had gone to pilgrimage to Iran and Iraq via Iran to observe Ashura rituals in Karbala to pay homage to Imam Hussain (AS). On return, they were ordered as usual to stay there as long as security forces form security convoy to depart to Quetta.
Due to hot weather and lack of essential facilities in Taftan border town, two Zaireen died there. Others are holding protest sit-in against the government and security forces because of their negligence, two Zaireen died.
An ordinary citizen can afford travel to pilgrimage via land border because of their financial position and when Zaireen return they donít have enough money to afford long stay. But, biased officials donít care and prolong their stay without providing needed facilities to them.
Minister of State for Interior Sheharyar Afridi had visited Taftan border town which was lauded by Shia Muslims and they believed change had come to Pakistan but deaths of Zaireen has defamed PTI-led government.
