(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The Arbaeen Association of Europe plans to hold the first international photo and film exhibition on Arbaeen (the 40th day after Ashura) in Leiden, the Netherlands.
Alireza Rajabi, head of the association, said that the exhibition will host visitors on April 7 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time.
He expressed hope that the exhibition will be widely covered by the media.
Rajabi stressed that the members of the association are trying to get the permission for holding the exhibition in other cities of the country as well.
Each year, a huge crowd of Shia Muslims march toward Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein is located, to perform mourning rites marking Arbaeen.
Arbaeen is the 40th day after Ashura, the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (A) and his faithful companions in the 680AD Battle of Karbala.
In the past few years, the number of pilgrims taking part in the Arbaeen march in Iraq is estimated to have been more than 20 million.
