Allama Syed Sibtain Sabzwari, Punjab-based eminent leader of Islami Tehreek Pakistan and Shia Ulema Council, has said that Allama Sajid Naqvi-led party believes in unity and fraternity of all Muslims irrespective of their sectarian affiliations and their alliance with other religious parties is based on commonalities.
In an interview, he said, enemies of Islam, Muslims and Pakistan have propagated that religious scholars lack ability to do politics and they are unaware of statecraft. He cited that in Iran, religious scholars successfully led Islamic revolution and they have been running government for last 39 years. He said that in Pakistan too, Ulema can do so by their united struggle.
He said that his party believes in unity based on commonalities, common creed, principles and tenets shared by all Muslims including Shias and Sunnis. He said that unwavering faith in one and only God, his last apostle Hazrat Mohammad, in Quran, in Qibla, etc. are those commonalities that Muslims cannot escape from unity and fraternity. He said that Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi promoted unity and fraternity of Muslims by his active role in Milli Yakjehti Council and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal.
He said that their party would prefer MMA’s common candidates to contest general elections to be held in July this year. However, where MMA would not have candidate, our Islami Tehreek would field our own candidate. He hoped that MMA would again form government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
